I have another interesting discussion with Steph and Antoin in #joiito on privacy, racisim and sexism yesterday. Yep, how much more difficult can it be? The symbols for privacy and racisim is “1984” and Rosa Parks respectively. But not many Asian could relate to these primarly western concepts.

Zao, Miyagi, Japan
I just received the formal invitation to speak at the the Association for Communication of Transculture (ACT) Seminar in Zao, Miyagi, Japan from Oct 27 to 29. The theme for the seminar is “Exploring New Cooperative Era in Asia-Pacific”. Apparently, it is an annual event organized by ACT Foundation to bring young people who will […]
Next Generation
I have a little chat with Steph yesterday in #joiito (and she encouraged me to blog this down). Steph’s has an incredible blog which ranks among the “best of blogs” (together with Boing Boing and Slashdot). She writes like a poet, elaborate and beautiful. If you haven’t read her blog, you have no idea what […]

Bureaucracy = do nothing
During a golf session with a friend over the weekend, we have a brief but interesting discussion about bureaucracy in the government. Peter Drucker, in his book Managing the Next Society noted that Japanese have encountered 3 economic crisis: 1940s unemployment, 1960 retail inefficiency and 1980s recession. What is interesting is that the government overcome […]
Cyberwar?
According to Taipei Times, China has launch a systematic information warfare campaign against Taiwan with the goal to break into government database. Well, I usually take news from Taiwan with a pint of salt but if this is true, then this may be the first international cyberwar I know…From clubs to swords to guns to […]
